"I'll Fly Away" is one of the most recognizable hymns in history, recorded by music artists in nearly every genre, including acclaimed actor and comedian Leslie Jordan who recorded the the song on his Gospel album Company’s Comin’. This weekend on Apply Music Country's "Hunker Down Radio with Leslie Jordan," Betsy Brumley will open up with the iconic song her grandfather, Albert E. Brumley, wrote in 1932 and the iconic legacy she's carrying on today with the I'll Fly Away Foundation, which uses power of music to engage children and improve their lives through songwriting programs to unlock children’s creative potential and help inspire their dreams. The saying goes “it all starts with a song,” and the I'll Fly Away Foundation Foundation believe that a song can change a life.
John Schneider Rolls Out New Album ‘Truck On’
Hit the open road for some "freewheelin' fun" (Parade.com) with Truck On, acclaimed actor and musician John Schneider's new album available today through BFD/Audium Nashville and Maven Entertainment. The 14-song project is an ode to highway heroes and a portion of the proceeds will benefit St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that helps over-the-road/regional semi-truck drivers and their families.

Bill Anderson Penned “Once a Day” Inducted into National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress
Whisperin' Bill Anderson's prolific songwriting has been recognized with membership into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry and awarded him with more than 50 BMI Awards, three CMA Awards and two ACM Awards. Anderson earned a spot in history as the only songwriter in history to chart country songs in seven consecutive decades. Now, the National Recording Registry is recognizing Anderson's songwriting as "Once a Day," recorded by Connie Smith, joins other groundbreaking sounds of history and culture in the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress. "Once A Day" is being inducted alongside Louis Armstrong’s “When the Saints Go Marching In,” Labelle’s “Lady Marmalade,” Nas’ “Illmatic,” Kool & the Gang’s “Celebration,” and Kermit the Frog’s “The Rainbow Connection.”
