NASHVILLE, Tenn. No. 1 Billboard recording artist Meghan Linsey‘s album title track, “Bold Like A Lion,” will be featured on ABC‘s hit series Station 19 tonight at 8/7 CT. The song, written by Linsey, Julie Moriva and her producer Tyler Cain, is Linsey’s second placement on the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off in the last year. As an independent artist and songwriter, Linsey has had immense success in the film and TV space, landing several placements on major network TV shows including All Rise on CBS and Netflix’s Emmy Award-winning show Queer Eye. Linsey recently lent her voice and songwriting chops to a new version of the Queer Eye theme song, “All Things Keep Getting Better,” which Entertainment Weekly dubbed as “a country-fied, banjo-fabulous version”.

Reviewers are applauding Linsey:

“Linsey returns to her roots on this blue-eyed soul track…and has no trouble telling her ex to leave her alone. Driven by a choir, saxophone and organ, this track is proof that Linsey’s powerhouse, full-bodied vocal is as impactful as ever.”

– Jessica Nicholson, Billboard

“In the ‘If You Need Me Don’t’ music video, Linsey lets her passion shine as she belts out the lyrics, complimented by colorful outfits and sets with this ‘female empowerment’ anthem.”

– Daniela Avila, People.com

“Raw, and refined, Linsey’s unabashed vocal strength radiates through a newfangled production palate. Brassy layers of jazz-rooted instrumentation present a clashing contrast to the whining pedal steel that often softened the edges of her thoughtfully constructed country sound.”

– Madeline Crone, American Songwriter

“With that big, soulful voice, Linsey has a sound that is hard to forget and is well on her way to becoming a household name”

– Bethany Bowman, The Tennessee Star

ABOUT MEGHAN LINSEY:
With her soulful voice and unique ability to rattle the rafters with gritty vocals, Meghan Linsey knows no boundaries in the realm of music. Linsey captured the hearts of America along with the ear of Scott Borchetta, a judge on the CMT reality singing competition Can You Duet. She won the show and Borchetta, the head of Big Machine Records, immediately signed the country-soul duo Steel Magnolia to his label. Linsey also signed with EMI Publishing and went on to pen seven of the 12 songs on the duo’s debut album.

Success came quickly after the debut single “Keep on Lovin’ You” catapulted to the Top 5 on Billboard. The pair toured with superstar acts including Brad Paisley, Bob Seger and Reba and appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live. They were nominated for multiple major awards, including CMA’s, ACM’s and a Teen Choice Award. The whirlwind only subsided when the pair, unfortunately, parted ways in 2013. Linsey embarked on her solo career writing and releasing two EP’s before getting a call in 2015 from a producer for NBC’s Emmy award-winning show, The Voice. The next day she was on a plane to LA and the rest is history.

During her time on The Voice, Linsey landed at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian chart with her rendition of “Amazing Grace” and had multiple No. 1’s across all genres of the iTunes chart. She was crowned the season eight runner-up and was the first contestant in The Voice history to perform an original, self-penned song on the show’s finale. Since her success on The Voice, Linsey has toured throughout the U.S. and abroad and collaborated with GRAMMY winners and hit artists including Chingy, Aloe Blacc, and Fred Schneider of the B-52’s.

Linsey finds inspiration from women with powerful voices and stories to tell such as Tanya, Dolly, Aretha and Whitney. These influences helped shape the powerhouse that is not only confident in her vocal prowess but who is also not afraid to use her platform to speak out against injustices. With passionate fervor, she faces challenges head-on and aims to share truth, inspire and love people.
