Produced by McClure, Henry and Stephen Leiweke, “This Christmas” was recorded by The Imaginaries at Yackland Studio during a recent trip to Nashville for AMERICANAFEST. The stop in Music City also included a performance at The Basement as part of The Imaginaries’ fall tour. They performed tracks from their 2022 film A COWGIRL’S SONG, favorites off their debut album and new releases like their latest single “Things Are Gonna Be Alright.”

“Equipped with spades of ability and aptitude (The Tennessee Star, Bethany Bowman),” The Imaginaries released “Things Are Gonna Be Alright,” written by Henry and Jeff Silbar (“Wind Beneath My Wings”), on Sept. 9. The track followed the recent Netflix premiere of A COWGIRL’S SONG, originally released in theaters and on VOD from Samuel Goldwyn Films on April 22. McClure and Henry starred in the coming-of-age drama, made their debut as film producers and wrote and produced the original motion picture soundtrack.

With support from CMT and Cowboys & Indians, The Imaginaries followed the release of “Things Are Gonna Be Alright” with a short film inspired by the song, which they also starred in and executive produced. Directed by Rahul Chakraborty with Chakra Productions, the video exclusively premiered on Cowboys & Indians. “The video is impressively cinematic in its storytelling while intertwining diverse plot threads — and, like the song it illuminates, delivers a universal and relevant message of hope,” praised Joe Leydon.

Last year, the Oklahoma natives partnered with the Chickasha Economic Development Council for the release of their festive video for their holiday original, “Christmas Town.” The video celebrated the Chickasha Festival Of Light, named by Forbes Magazine and USA Today as one of the best light displays in the United States. The duo recently returned to Henry’s hometown to headline the Chickasha Downtown Park Grand Opening Celebration. The event unveiled a 50-foot-tall recreation of the A CHRISTMAS STORY leg lamp, marking Chickasha’s ties to the film.
