SWITCHFOOT WRAPS 40+ CITY NORTH AMERICAN NATIVE TONGUE TOUR

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – After playing more than 40 shows in 60 days, multi-platinum selling alternative rockers SWITCHFOOT wrapped up the North American leg of their Native Tongue Tour this past weekend with a show in Vancouver, BC. The Native Tongue Tour, which included support acts Colony House and Tyson Motsenbocker, sold out venues from Los Angeles, Seattle and Toronto to Asheville, Nashville and Dallas. Throughout the tour, the GRAMMY®-winning band partnered with Food for the Hungry, an international relief and development organization, to raise money for programs that help communities around the world move from extreme poverty to self-sustainability.

Performing songs from their new album Native Tongue along with fan-favorite hits to packed houses, the tour felt “like a family reunion. On top of a couple members being literally family, their concerts have a strong sense of intimacy and interaction (Live In Limbo).” Each show found frontman Jon Foreman jumping “off of the stage into the crowd to sing with the audience and break the barrier between performer and audience (DC Music Review),” while each set also featured a medley of “a couple of stripped-back tunes at the front of the stage, with the musicians playing acoustic instruments and singing harmony around a single microphone (Local Spins).”

SWITCHFOOT’s first-class production also received praise as the quintet deserved “kudos to their jaw-dropping stage setup, ranging from the lights to the plethora of bubbles that get released into the crowd as a disco ball twinkles brightly into the night. It truly is one example where photos cannot do the experience justice (On Stage Review).” “In addition to the cool visuals, the band’s sound was top-notch. Each instrument had its own space, carved within the live music (Folk N Rock).”

The Native Tongue Tour followed the release of SWITCHFOOT’s chart-topping, critically-acclaimed album Native Tongue. Released via Fantasy Records, the band’s 11th studio album serves as a “call to pursue joy and resist the voices of hatred and fear, including those in our own heads (The Denver Post).” SWITCHFOOT shared a blistering live video for the title track where “the pounding drums unapologetically cut through the mix like an ancient tribe of old. And, the raw and gritty vocals howl a battle cry that’s not to be ignored (PopMalt).” The live performance clip, produced by SWITCHFOOT and directed by Erick Frost, was shot at Atlanta’s historic Tabernacle.

Heading into summer, SWITCHFOOT shows no signs of slowing down as they gear up to provide direct support for legendary rock band Bon Jovi’s This House Is Not For Sale 2019 European stadium tour, perform at various festivals in Japan, Norway and Sweden and host the 15th annual SWITCHFOOT BRO-AM Beach Fest on June 29.
