NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Emerging country songstress Bailey Hefley continues to bolster up young women everywhere with her new single, “Dust on a Diamond,” which tackles a failed relationship with lyrics like “You’re a diamond / You were trying to shine for a blind man.”
In an exclusive acoustic performance premiering on Guitar Girl Magazine, Bailey performs a stripped-down version of the first song from her new EP, So That Girl, set for release later this year. The single was also featured in “Your Favorite Thing Podcast with Wells and Brandi,” hosted by influencer and DJ Brandi Cyrus alongside radio personality Wells Adams.
Produced by multi-platinum ACM award-winning singer/songwriter Jamie O’Neal, and co-written by Bailey, Marti Dodson and Linda Greene, the single tackles a failed relationship that Bailey hopes can comfort other young women who have found themselves in similar circumstances.
“I wrote ‘Dust on a Diamond’ for other girls hoping to inspire a movement of self respect in dating and relationships,” said Hefley. “I hope that it will empower other women and help them realize their own self-worth if that’s something they are struggling with. I also hope that girls will discover that they are not someone else’s opinion of them.”

ABOUT BAILEY HEFLEY:
Bailey Hefley is a hopeful romantic, but you can’t blame her for believing in happy endings. She’s living proof that they exist. The Little Rock, Ark. native suffered debilitating seizures as a small child. The medication that saved her life also robbed her of her innocent enthusiasm for eight years and left her in a state of perpetual lethargy. She overcame those challenges and in 2016, developed a friendship/mentorship with artist Jamie O’Neal. Bailey will release her new EP, So That Girl, later this year. The six-song offering, all of which Bailey co-penned, is about finding love—and all the ups and downs that come with it. There are themes of broken trust in “Not Your Cinderella” and the mystery—and thrill—of the unknown in “Gotta Find Out,” while the title track serves as an autobiographical lesson in the optimism of love. The EP’s lead single, “Dust on a Diamond,” is out now.
