NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country singer-songwriter Ray Scott couldn’t sit back and do nothing after the May 18 mass shooting at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas where his wife’s immediate family live.
“This is something that should absolutely not be happening in our country. It took hitting extremely close to home for me to do something. My wife attended Santa Fe High School and so did her dad and brother. On the day of the shooting, all of her extended family were at the school,” Ray Scott shared.
Immediately after the shooting, the Santa Fe community established the Santa Fe Strong Fund to help cover funeral and medical costs for those affected by the tragedy. On July 24, all proceeds from Ray Scott & Friends: Songs for Healing in Santa Fe will be donated to the fund. The benefit concert is set for 6:30 p.m. at Analog at Hutton Hotel.
