Phil Vassar Announced as a 2021 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Nominee

Multi-platinum selling Phil Vassar, whose career has garnered 10 No. 1 singles and 26 Top 40 hits including signature self-penned hits "Just Another Day in Paradise" and "Carlene," is a 2021 nominee for Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Nominated in the Songwriter/Artist category, Vassar has also written top-charting songs for artists Tim McGraw ("My Next Thirty Years,"" For a Little While"), Alan Jackson ("Right on the Money"), Jo Dee Messina ("Bye Bye," "Alright") and many more.

You've seen the headlines and heard of the acronym, yet NFTs (non-fungible token) can seem like a daunting and confusing trend in the music industry. On June 14 at 6 p.m., entertainment attorney Colin Maher, in partnership with Nashville-based non-profit HOME (Helping Our Music Evolve), will break it all down into layman's terms for everyone to understand during this FREE virtual event. Music professionals may be asking, What is an NFT? or What exactly are you selling when you sell a music-related NFT? NFTs, a unit of data stored on a digital ledger called blockchain, which certifies the digital asset to be unique and therefore not interchangeable, are an emerging asset in the cryptocurrency environment. NFTs bring a great new revenue stream for the music industry, but they come with a lot of questions. During the seminar, participants will get answers to many of them.

Few have attained the achievements of multi-GRAMMY®, CMA and ACM Award-winning performer Steve Wariner, and this Saturday, May 8 and Tuesday, May 11 the singer/songwriter/instrumentalist will celebrate his 25th anniversary as a Grand Ole Opry member. Wariner's lifelong dream came true when he was inducted May 11, 1996 and performed "A Woman Loves," as well as a duet with Bill Anderson of "Tips Of My Fingers" and then joined Chet Atkins on "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?" This Saturday, May 8 Circle will honor his 25th anniversary during the livestream. The Grand Ole Opry will also celebrate Wariner at the Opry House on Tuesday, May 11, the official anniversary date.
