NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Rising from the ashes of former projects, Nashville rockers Voltagehawk set out to start a new project to fill a void for loud, fast rock ‘n’ roll in Nashville, releasing their self-titled, debut album on Poison Tree Records. Nashville Access exclusively premiered a “First Listen” of the album. Click HERE to download Voltagehawk.
“When we set out to find a band that can show the world what the amazing rock scene in Nashville sounds like, we knew we found that in Voltagehawk. They’re original, highly creative and bold,” said Scott Thomas, CEO Poison Tree Records.
“I’m humbled to work with this group of hardworking guys. It has been exciting to watch this band bring their songs to life in the studio. This is Nashville Rock!” said Aaron Chesling, A&R Poison Tree Records.
Paying for studio time with a 40-ounce of malt liquor and a set of brass knuckles, Voltagehawk released their debut single “Modern Gasoline,” in August, which exclusively premiered on Vents Magazine. The band recorded at Starstruck Studios on Music Row, and the album was mastered by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering (The Black Keys, Marilyn Manson, Shania Twain, Cage The Elephant).
“Making this record was honestly an other worldly experience,” said the band’s vocalist and guitarist Dan Fenton. “We were able to work with an amazing producer who instantly became a friend and the Yoda of this record, pushing us to make music without rules or limits. It was cathartic, fun, emotional and wild.”
Voltagehawk blends the sound and stylings of two New York punk rockers, a classically trained guitarist and a rhythm keeper from the delta. “Modern Gasoline” takes you on a sonic journey through hard hitting drum beats, groovy bass lines, searing guitar riffs that will blow your mind and hauntingly beautiful vocals that will move your soul.
