NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Go “Somewhere Drinking” with Lexie Hayden, in her personal new lyric video. Sounds Like Nashville exclusively premiered the video, which pays tribute to some of Hayden’s favorite Nashville bars and “captures the lonely intoxication of a breakup (Sounds Like Nashville/Chris Parton).”

“My videographer, Emma Golden, and I wanted to do something fun and creative for the lyric video since the song is so visual,” explained Hayden. “We thought it would be cool to take Polaroids all over Nashville representing the different lyrics in the song. We bought hundreds of polaroids and went to my favorite Nashville bars: Clyde’s on Church, Melrose Billiards, Red Door Saloon, Yeehaw Brewing and Scoreboard Bar and Grill.”

“Somewhere Drinking” was co-written with Hayden, Derek George (Chase Bryant, Joe Nichols) and Chuck Jones (Clay Walker, Deana Carter). Speaking about the story behind the song, Hayden shared with Sounds Like Nashville, “The song title actually came from us just having a casual conversation. I was asking Derek if he had watched the Tennessee Titans play the New England Patriots the night before, and he turned to me and said, “Were you really watching football or were you just somewhere drinking?” I laughed because I truly was just somewhere drinking… even though it was a crazy game. Sometimes, the best songs just come naturally, I guess.”

Most recently Hayden released an acoustic version of “Relit Cigarette” featuring fellow Virginian singer-songwriter Phil Vassar. Hayden’s music has garnered more than 500,000 streams and been featured on popular playlists including, Spotify’s “New Boots” and “Fresh Finds.”

About Lexie Hayden:
Drawing inspiration from all corners of country music, ranging from royalty like Dolly Parton and The Dixie Chicks, to younger trailblazers such as Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, and Brothers Osborne, Virginia-born singer-songwriter Lexie Hayden has always sought to tap one particular attribute that these influences embody to her: honesty. Hayden’s debut EP, The Drive, immediately drew critical acclaim from outlets such as Whiskey Riff and The Bobby Bones Show for its lyrical story-telling and diversity. Two years later, Hayden is set to release her follow-up EP co-written and produced by co-writer Derek George (Randy Houser, Chase Bryant, Joe Nichols) and Engineer/Producer Julian King (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Chris Young). The three singles released off the EP gained traction on Spotify and were showcased on various playlists, including “New Music Nashville,” “Fresh Finds,” and “New Boots.”. The music video for the second single,”Relit Cigarette,” grabbed the attention of CMT and premiered on their homepage a week after release.
