NASHVILLE, Tenn. Foundry Records recording artist Austin Merrill “goes all in on a country song about gambling on a relationship (Cowboys & Indians)” in his new video for his latest single “All In.” Cowboys & Indians exclusively premiered the video, which stars the singer-songwriter and was filmed in Nashville. Cowboys & Indians praised, “The new music shows Merrill continuing to prove himself a natural singer-songwriter, building on the momentum of his debut EP, Whiskey & Water, released last spring and also written entirely by Merrill.”

“We knew from the get-go that we had to incorporate the poker references from the song lyrics into the video somehow, and we ultimately decided to just go ‘all in’ and film a game of poker between me and the leading lady,” Merrill explained.

Country Sway exclusively premiered the first listen to “All In” and deemed the single, produced by Jacob Rice, Merrill’s “catchiest song to date.” “All In” follows the summer release of Merrill’s single, “One More Mile,” praised by American Songwriter, Pro Country Music and Raised On It. Merrill, who recently accumulated over one million streams on Spotify, is currently gearing up for 2021 with Foundry Records.

The Oregon native came to Nashville as an award-winning upright bassist and accomplished sax player. After graduating from Vanderbilt University, Merrill followed another lifelong calling and joined the U.S. Army where he recently finished up his service as a Lieutenant in the Tennessee Army National Guard. On Nov. 13, GRAMMY®, ACM and CMA-winning Shenandoah released Every Road, which features Merrill’s song “Boots on Broadway.” “You listen to it and you get thinking about what goes on down on Broadway [in Nashville] and man, he nailed it,” Shenandoah’s lead singer Marty Raybon shared with Sounds Like Nashville.

Music has played an essential role in Merrill’s life from an early age, helping forge a strong sense of individuality and creativity in a multicultural family. Country music was family music for Merrill, and the influences of his favorite childhood artists such as Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, and Shenandoah can still be heard in the music he writes and sings today. The Oregon native first came to Nashville as an award-winning upright bassist and accomplished sax player. After graduating from Vanderbilt University, Merrill followed another lifelong calling and joined the U.S. Army. He recently finished up his service as a Lieutenant in the Tennessee Army National Guard and released his new single “All In.” As American Songwriter explains, “It’s evident not only does his heart lie with country music of the 90’s and 00’s but he has the talent to seamlessly blend the traditional stylings he grew up on with the modern sound country listeners are drawn to today.”
