GRAND OLE OPRY MEMBER GENE WATSON SET TO HOST TWO-HOUR OPRY “HOUSE GUEST DJ” SPECIAL AT WILLIE’S ROADHOUSE ON SIRIUSXM
After an introduction on stage by Opry announcer Eddie Stubbs, who claimed him as one of the most respected voices in country music history, Gene Watson became a member of the Grand Ole Opry this February before the novel coronavirus pandemic shut down live performances. As the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, Watson will host a two-hour special as an Opry "House Guest DJ" at WIllie's Roadhouse on SiriusXM. Watson will share with listeners stories from his more than 50 years performing on the Opry stage. The country legend hand-picked some of his favorite songs recorded by his friends and fellow Opry members, as well as from his own extensive catalogue. Watson's set as an Opry "House Guest DJ" at Willie's Roadhouse on SiriusXM will premiere Friday, August 21 at 9 p.m. EST on Channel 59 and re-air throughout the weekend.
