“I Could Be Persuaded” was originally released in 1990 as the first single off the Bellamy Brothers’ album Reality Check. Written by David and Howard Bellamy with Don Schlitz, the single landed in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. The Bellamys invited Sir Cliff to join them on a new version of “I Could Be Persuaded” in 2009 for their The Anthology, Volume 1 album.
Sir Cliff shared, “David and Howard were easy to work with. They knew exactly what they wanted of me and I did my best to please them. When I first heard the Bellamys’ “I Could Be Persuaded,” I loved the song and when they asked me to join them on the re-make, I was thrilled and honored.”
The Bellamy Brothers’ 1976 hit “Let Your Love Flow” launched their international fanbase as the single became an instant smash in the both the U.S. and Europe. “Let Your Love Flow” was recently featured in game five of the World Series, and the Bellamys continue to regularly perform all over the world. When the stay at home orders took effect in March, the Bellamy Brothers were on the road with Blake Shelton for his Friends and Heroes Tour and gearing up for a month-long European tour. The European dates have been rescheduled to June 2021.
The non-stop duo have remained busy musically through their most recent project, Bucket List, which debuted in July of 2020. “Rednecks (Lookin’ for Paychecks),” a timely take on the current situation, led the EP. Bucket List also includes “No Country Music For Old Men,” a collaboration with longtime friend John Anderson inspired by the loss of Kenny Rogers, and more light-hearted songs like “Lay Low, Stay High,” which ties into their new partnership with the Florida-based medical marijuana company, Trulieve, on their flower product line Old Hippie Stash.
Season two of the Bellamy Brothers’ hit reality series “Honky Tonk Ranch” recently premiered on Circle. The series, which airs Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. CT, chronicles the duo’s “unusual lives, blending music stardom, vigorous road tours and cattle ranching (Tampa Bay Times).” Eddy Raven appeared in the premiere episode of the star-studded season that also features Blake Shelton, John Schneider, Billy Dean and many more of the iconic duo’s legendary friends.
