NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Songwriter and actor Scarlett Burke is the co-creator, director and executive producer of the first of its kind, scripted country music series, Make It Up As We Go, available today from Audio Up Media. Created by Burke and Audio Up Founder/CEO Jared Gutstadt, the podcast follows the story of Charlotte, an aspiring young singer-songwriter played by Burke, and her pursuits to make a name for herself in the music industry. Make It Up As We Go unravels Charlotte’s own personal journey navigating the writer rooms of Nashville, which is where the stories are told, songs are born, and in turn – finding her own voice along the way.

Burke stars alongside country luminaries like Miranda Lambert, Lindsay Ell and Bobby Bones (playing himself), as well as Bre Blair (playing Nashville songwriter and hitmaker Emily Turner – based off Nicolle Galyon), Michael Raymond-James (playing well-known songwriter and seasoned Nashville veteran Marshall Tracy), Billy Bob Thornton (playing legendary Nashville producer Van Tyler), Dennis Quaid and a who’s who of the Nashville music scene. Co-produced by Audio Up and iHeartMedia and exclusively presented by Unilever’s Knorr and Magnum brands, Make It Up As We Go is written by David Hudgins (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood and Game of Silence) and Brooks Hudgins

Make It Up As We Go also features an original soundtrack, written and performed by Burke. Sony Music Nashville, in conjunction with Audio Up Media, released “Workin’ Out” by critically-acclaimed country music artist/songwriter Lindsay Ell last week. “Workin’ Out” was co-written by Burke, Gutstadt, co-producer Jeff Peters and GRAMMY-nominated songwriter and producer Nicolle Galyon. “My Dove,” the second song off the soundtrack and an original from Burke, debuted today on the podcast’s premiere episode.

EPISODE 1 DESCRIPTION:
Nashville producer Elliot Lieberman discovers Charlotte and her boyfriend, guitar player Davis Gabbert, at The Golden Light in Amarillo, TX and invites them to Nashville to test out their songwriting legs. After a cross-country drive and a night of no sleep in their new dump of a duplex, Charlotte and Davis land a writing session with well-known Nashville songwriter Marshall Tracy.

EPISODE 2 DESCRIPTION:
After a disastrous first writing room session, the duo must confront the odds of their music dreams becoming a reality. Charlotte’s talent begins to outshine Davis. She’s given a choice to write without him or go back to Amarillo. Jealousy and doubt plague the couple.

ABOUT SCARLETT BURKE:
Born in Amarillo, Texas, Scarlett Burke began studying acting as well as writing songs on her mom’s guitar at the age of 12 and has since written for Miranda Lambert, Lindsay Ell, Tyler Rich and composed music for some of the biggest campaigns in advertising; including Taco Bell’s Chasing Gold ad starring Darren Criss, (which moved their stock price) as well as a triple spot Zillow campaign. Her scores have been nominated for “Best Country Music Track” and “Best Americana Artist” by the Production Music Association and have been heard on countless Netflix, ABC, CBS, and Fox series. As an actor she’s appeared on Showtime’s Ray Donovan, Lethal Weapon on Fox, and TNT’S Animal Kingdom.
