Sounds Like Nashville exclusively premiered a first listen to “Everybody’s Somebody,” writing, “The soul-stirring track finds this Indiana native and veteran of the U.S. Navy remembering the homespun wisdom of his youth. Wrapping his bluesy, muscular vocal in tenderness and featuring some swampy dobro and tasty electric guitar, it’s a low-and-slow anthem of inclusion that’s all too poignant today. The world is a patchwork of diversity, he sings, and that’s the way it should be.”

To celebrate the release, Jones is hosting a Facebook live stream tonight at 7:00 pm CST on his page as well as Sounds Like Nashville and WYTE 106.5’s pages. “I’ve always tried to live my life with the mindset of Everybody Is Somebody. I try to treat people the way that I’d want to be treated. Whether you’re black, white, red, blue, green, left, right, rich or poor, it doesn’t matter to me. If you treat me nice, I’ll treat you the same! I’m hoping that we can all listen to this song, and that it will inspire us to just be good people and treat people accordingly! It’s really not that hard to be a good person!” Jones shared.

Everybody’s Somebody follows Jones’ sophomore EP, Pray, which topped the Amazon Charts at No. 1 and landed at No. 7 on the iTunes Charts. A veteran of the United States Navy, Jones moved to Nashville in 2010. Over the last decade, he has established himself as a successful songwriter with his songs receiving placement on the Sportsman Channel and NBC Sports Network and as an entertainer that has shared the stage with several iconic acts, including Billy Ray Cyrus, who Jones toured with for four years and performed with at the Grand Ole Opry, during Charlie Daniels’ 40th anniversary Volunteer Jam and on an episode of the “TODAY Show.”

ABOUT DEREK JONES:
In 2010, Hartford City, Indiana’s own singer-songwriter, Derek Jones, packed his bags, headed south to Nashville and never looked back. The move followed Jones’ service in the United States Navy from 1999 to 2003. With gritty, grizzled powerhouse vocals, bold songwriting talent and a dynamic live show, Jones began filling bars and honky tonks throughout the country and building a loyal fanbase. Jones has also established a name for himself as a songwriter with his cuts receiving placement on the Sportsman Channel series “Tailgate Adventures” and selection as the theme song for “Fisher’s ATV World” on the Velocity Channel and NBC Sports Network. Jones has had the privilege of sharing the stage with a variety of revered acts, including Billy Ray Cyrus, Alabama, Charlie Daniels, Trace Adkins, David Allan Coe, Shooter Jennings, Dwight Yoakam, Blackberry Smoke, Ted Nugent and Jamey Johnson, among others. Only five years after moving to Nashville, Jones was invited to step into “The Circle” and duet with Cyrus at the Grand Ole Opry. That same year, he had the honor of performing “Some Gave All” alongside Cyrus at Charlie Daniels’ 40th anniversary Volunteer Jam at Bridgestone Arena. Jones also sang “Some Gave All” with Cyrus on national television during an episode of NBC’s “TODAY Show.” The independent artist’s 2018 sophomore EP, Pray, topped the Amazon Charts at No. 1 and landed at No. 7 on the iTunes Charts. Jones is set to release his follow-up EP, Everybody’s Somebody, this fall with the title track available now.
